Survivor Pool Solutions for Week 6: New York Jets

With the parity in today’s NFL, selecting THE team for your Survivor Pool each week takes more thought and strategy than ever before. We here at Bump and Run don’t want you to screw it up. Survivor Pool Solutions will help to alleviate the stresses of making that gut-wrenching decision (at least we hope so). This week’s play: The New York Jets.

If you saw Rex Ryan’s press conference shortly after the Jets’ 31-27 loss to the Dolphins on Monday night, you know that this dude hates to lose. He was ashamed of the way his defense defended the Wildcat and how they made Chad Henne “look like Dan Marino.” In fact, Ryan was so steamed that he decided to stay at the Jets facility early Tuesday morning after returning from Miami to prepare for this Sunday’s game against the 1-4 Buffalo Bills:

Survivor Pool Solutions for Week 5: Minnesota Vikings

Fresh off a Monday night W against their hated rival, the Vikes are flying high and ready to pounce on the hapless Rams in Week 5. The victory over the Packers sent a message to the rest of the league – if you put 8 or 9 guys in the box to stop Adrian Peterson, Favre is going to burn you. The Silver Fox is starting to hit his stride, and frankly it’s scary to think how explosive this offense can be if everyone stays healthy. Defensively, I don’t know what’s more awesome: Jared Allen, his mullet or his celebration after a sack.

Survivor Pool Solutions for Week 4: New York Giants

After three weeks, the Giants have already put some distance between themselves and the rest of the NFC. Similar to the Ravens, NYG is the true definition of a complete team. They’ve overcome injuries on both sides of the ball only to come out stronger the following week. Just last Sunday, the Giants embarrassed the Bucs in Tampa 24-0 with a make-shift secondary. They’re deep, experienced and poised to make another Super Bowl run. Does this sound like a team that’s going to lose to the Kansas City Chiefs in Arrowhead? Child please.

Survivor Pool Solutions for Week 3: Baltimore Ravens

With the parity in today’s NFL, selecting THE team for your Survivor Pool each week takes more thought and strategy than ever before. We here at Bump and Run don’t want you to screw it up. If you took our advice and used the Washington Redskins in your Survivor Pool last week, you won – barely. We apologize for any anxiety you may have endured. This week, we fully expect the Ravens to put your mind at ease before halftime. After two weeks, Baltimore has arguably been the most complete team in football.  We all knew about Ray Lewis, Ed Reed and T-Sizzle on the defensive side of the ball, but the big story in Charm City has been the arrival of Joe Flacco. Offensive coordinator Cam Cameron has caught teams off-guard by allowing his young quarterback to air it out. Flacco’s numbers after two weeks: 43 for 69, 497 yards and 5TD’s. Those type of numbers damn-near guarantee winter football in South Beach: either the Pro Bowl or the Super Bowl.

Oh, we forgot to mention the Ravens’ Week 3 opponent: the 0-2 Browns! Cleveland comes limping into Baltimore licking their wounds after getting dismantled by the Broncos 27-6. Brady Quinn has been wildly inconsistent and the Ravens aren’t exactly a “get back on track” opponent. Normally we wouldn’t suggest betting against a desperate, winless team playing a division rival, but let’s be real: can you honestly see the Cleveland Browns beating the Baltimore Ravens on the road? Neither can we.

Still not convinced? Here are a few other games to consider:

Green Bay over St. Louis

New York Giants over Tampa Bay

Survive and advance. We’ll see you next week.

Survivor Pool Solutions for Week 2: Washington Redskins

With the parity in today’s NFL, selecting THE team for your Survivor Pool each week takes more thought and strategy than ever before. We here at Bump and Run don’t want you to screw it up. Survivor Pool Solutions will help to alleviate the stresses of making that gut-wrenching decision (at least we hope so). This week’s play: The Washington Redskins.

Why the Redskins you ask? Coming off a rather unimpressive loss to the Giants last week, the ‘Skins have arguably the biggest cupcake in the NFL to feast on in front of their home crowd –  the freaking St. Louis Rams! The Lambs won just two games in 2008 (albeit one was against Washington) and looked pathetic last week in Seattle, getting owned by the Hawks 28-0. Plus, the league did them no favors by scheduling back-to-back road trips on opposite coasts. You have to wonder what Spags did to the Commish to deserve that. Brutal.

Sure you’re putting a lot of stock into an inconsistent Redskins team, but when else would you use them? This is the week! Save your big guns for later in the season and watch the ‘Skins throttle the Rams. You can thank me on Monday. Still not convinced? Here are a couple other games to consider:

Vikings over Lions

Green Bay over Cincinnati

That’s it I’m done – good luck!
