Favre Free Morning Headlines: Braylon Edwards pulls a Tom Cable

After being held without a catch in a loss to the Bengals, Braylon Edwards went to the club Sunday night and took out his frustrations by punching LeBron James’ very small friend in the face. Wow, stay classy, B-Easy! Really making the most out of this contract year, huh? Eric Mangini’s fining these fools for not paying incidentals at hotels, can you imagine Braylon’s punishment?  (Cleveland Plain Dealer)

Word on the street is that Tom Cable could be arrested this week for harboring the worst excuse for a football team in the history of the NFL. That, and punching out his assistant coach. (AP)

You have to wonder how Darren McFadden’s career would turn out had he been drafted by any team other than the Raiders. Run DMC is out 2-4 weeks with a knee injury. (Oakland Tribune)

I think we may have gotten to the bottom of Mark Sanchez’s terrible performance in New Orleans on Sunday. Get your mind right pimp! (NY Post)

Big Ben didn’t wrestle on Monday night, but he did introduce the Diva Bowl. (WWE)

Rodney Harrison on TV needs to stop. Now. Please. (WBZTV)

Morning Headlines: Carolina’s Blue

The Panthers dropped to 0-3 after a 21-7 loss to the Cowboys last night in Jerry World. Stick a fork in Jake Delhomme – three more turnovers?! You can’t expect to compete when your QB is more likely to throw a pick 6 than a touchdown pass. At this point I’m just concerned for Jake’s safety – Steve Smith was losing his mind on the sidelines. Bank on some fireworks during Carolina’s upcoming bye week. (Charlotte Observer)

Bad news for Dolphins fans: Chad Pennington’s season, perhaps his career, is finished. Chad Henne will be responsible for leading Miami to their first win in 2009. Yikes. (Miami Herald)

Alright, I’ll say it: I feel bad for Jim Zorn. It truly is not IF, but WHEN. (Washington Post)

The Niners learned that Frank Gore will be sidelined for the next two games with an ankle injury sustained in Sunday’s loss to the Vikes. I say his replacement Glenn Coffee gets off this week against the Rams. (San Francisco Chronicle)

David Clowney was inactive against the Titans on Sunday because he complained about his playing time via Twitter. Rex Ryan don’t play that, Clowney. (New York Daily News)

Morning Headlines: Rex v. Singletary?

Alright Rex, refusing to kiss Belichick’s rings was funny but do you really want beef w/ Mike Singletary? The Niners have accused the Jets of tampering with Michael Crabtree, so the answer is yes. (NY Daily News)

Exciting Monday night game. Peyton Manning may be the only quarterback that can lead a team to victory after holding the ball for less than a quarter.  (Miami Herald)

Would it be weird to say that Jim Zorn is coaching for his job on Sunday against the Lions? I would throw down pay-per-view-type money to see the closed-door meeting between head coach and owner if the ‘Skins lose. Detroit has lost 19 straight.  (Washington Post)

The Cowboys lost to the Giants on Sunday night and may have lost their starting RB for next week’s MNF showdown against the Panthers (HINT: Check the ‘Waiver Wire’ post below for some fantasy advice).  (Dallas News)

Tweet, Retweet, whatever – T.O. ain’t T.O. if he isn’t trying to belittle one of his former QB’s. Come on Terrell, that’s really unfair. Tony was your teammate…he was your quarterback. (Shutdown Corner)

Mike Crabtree Hates Money, Success

Is this dude serious?? Michael Crabtree foolishly continues to leave stacks upon stacks of guaranteed cash on the table because apparently 16 mil in this economy can only get you so far. And as Michael Silver from Yahoo! Sports reported on Monday, the Niners offer is dropping by the week. I don’t know who’s calling the shots over in the Crabtree camp, but having Deion as your mouthpiece pretty much solidifies the Cleveland Browns’ impression of the kid in April.

Hey Mike, we all know the Raiders took some coin out of your pocket by drafting Darrius Heyward-Bey. We’re sorry. But the fact remains you were the second WR off the board – end of story. What, you think you’re going to get more money in 2010 if you sit this year out? Ask Mike … Continue Reading
