If Roethlisberger is Traded, Seattle Makes Sense
Now that it’s official Big Ben will be suspended for six games, the Steelers are actively pursuing a trade that would net them a top 10 pick in return. The team that makes the most sense in our opinion is the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks have two top 15 selections so they can afford to make such a move and Pete Carroll would love to jump start the city. What better way than to get a two time Super Bowl Champ in the prime of his career? The Seahawks could then turn around and draft CJ Spiller or Dez Bryant with the number 14 pick in the draft. Great for Seattle all the way around.
The good for Pittsburgh: getting to number 6 overall puts them right before division rival Cleveland who is contemplating selecting Jimmy Clausen. The Steelers then pull the trigger and draft Clausen, who can sit behind Leftwich and Batch for a year and learn the offense. No real pressure on the rookie in year one. With a great defense already in place, Pittsburgh can then use their own first rounder to possibly nab a WR to replace Santonio Holmes. All in all it could be a quick rebuild for both teams if this move gets done.
