Big Ben, Big Problems
Ben Roethlisberger, grow up son.
What, did you streak the quad too?
One would think that a two-time Super Bowl winning quarterback would have access to the finer things in life: gorgeous models, the inside track to A-list parties, private rooms at the most exclusive clubs — basically perks that the average 21-year-old frat kid dreams of.
Instead, while the Tom Bradys and Derek Jeters of the world are very privately maximizing their star power, Roethlisberger is waltzing around the small town of Milledgeville, GA trying to steal that 21-year-old frat kid’s girlfriend. And she’s only 20.
Remember the lame upperclassman/alumni who used to come back around to party after he graduated?
That’s Big Ben.
The question is, why? Why does a 28-year-old NFL star need to take shots with sorority girls when he could just as easily be in LA, Miami or NYC living it up in controlled enviornments with a private group of friends and the most beautiful, mature women in the world?
Why pose for pictures at a college bar with Cindy from ZTA when you could be enjoying a quiet night at home with a Perfect 10 model?
And why wear a black shirt with a devil on it to pose in those pictures when a simple button-down would do just fine?
Ben Roethlisberger, the quarterback, has had a very charmed NFL career. He’s well-loved in Pittsburgh but it’s becoming painfully obvious that he’s not the mature young man that Dan Rooney trusted with a $102 million contract to be the face of his franchise.
Big Ben’s bad judgement is once again going to cost his organization and the city he plays in. Just like last season, teammates will have to answer questions about sexual assault when they should be talking about training camp. Instead of calling sports radio shows to discuss ways to beat the Ravens and Bengals, the blue-collar fans in Pittsburgh will be left debating why the commisioner suspended their QB for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy.
Did Roethlisberger commit a crime? Maybe, maybe not. While the allegations are no joke, the point is that only an entitled (Tiger Woods’ word, not mine), egotistical fool would put himself in the position to be accused of sexual assault twice in nine months.
Kanye West’s 2007 song “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” has a verse that says it best:
To whom much is given much is tested Get arrested guess until he get the message I feel the pressure, under more scrutiny And what I do? Act more stupidlyBen Roethlisberger, grow up son — before it’s too late.
