Bump and Run Players of the Week
The final week of the regular season saw some performances from players you would never expect. With that, here is the final installment of Bump and Run’s Players of the Week. Check back next week for our Players of the Year:
Offense
Jay Cutler: Cutler had his ups and downs all season long. But if you look at his final two weeks of the season, he looks like a Pro Bowler. He ended his season against the Lions throwing for 276 yards and 4 TD’s. Cutler = 1 point
Arian Foster: When you need a big game with a chance at the playoffs on the line, who wouldn’t want to hand the ball to Arian Foster. That’s exactly what the Texans did in their win over the Patriots. He had 20 carries for 119 yards and 2 TD’s. Foster = 2 points
Willis McGahee: McGahee started the season racking up a bunch of touchdowns and he finished in the same fashion against the Raiders as the Ravens clinched a playoff birth. He carried the ball 16 times for 167 yards and 3 TD’s. McGahee = 3 points
Jamal Charles: When you look at the numbers Charles had a pretty ridiculous season, he just did it with limited playing time. On Sunday he just added to those numbers. Against the division rival Broncos he carried the ball on almost every snap its seemed and finished with 259 yards and 2 TD’s. Charles = 4 points
Defense
Paul Poluszny: Poluszny was all over the snowy field in Buffalo against the Colts. He was flying around and making all the plays. He finished with 11 tackles(8 solo) and 1 tackle for loss. Poluszny = 1 point
Anthony Spencer: Spencer had a great day versus Philadelphia. All day long the Cowboys made the Eagles offense look inept, thanks in large part to their pass rush. Spencer finished with 5 tackles and 2 sacks. Spencer = 2 points
Justin Smith: Smith made a feast of the Rams offensive line to end the season. He finished with 8 tackles, all of which were solo, and 3.5 sacks. Smith = 3 points
Derrick Johnson: A few years ago when Johnson was drafted he had unlimited potential. On Sunday he showed a flash of what made him a top 10 draft pick. He finished the game with 6 tackles(5 solo) and 2 INT that he returned for TD’s totaling 105 yards in return yards. Johnson = 4 points
