Bump and Run Players of the Week

Pat Greissing December 14, 2009 Daily Content No Comments

I hope you were one of the lucky people to have a premier WR on your fantasy team this weekend as the playoffs started because that’s who dominated the games this week.

Offense

DeSean Jackson: DeSean Jackson simply doesn’t score TD’s unless they are over 50 yards. This guy is SICK!!!  He is so explosive that whenever he touches the ball he can realistically take it to the house. Jackson torched the Giants secondary for 6 catches for 178 yards and 1 TD, he also had a 72 yard punt return for a TD. Jackson = 1 point

Chris Johnson: Quietly becoming the number one threat to Drew Brees’ MVP candidacy. He made the Rams D look really bad on Sunday. He had 3 TD’s (2 rushing and 1 receiving).   CJ finished with 117 yards rushing and 69 receiving. CJ = 2 points

Andre Johnson: When you start off the game with a 64 yard TD catch on the first play, things are probably going to go well for you.  Things didn’t stop after that play for Johnson. The Seahawks couldn’t even triple cover Johnson on Sunday. He finished with 11 catches for 193 yards and 2 TD’s.  Johnson = 3 points

Brandon Marshall: It was a record setting day for Marshall against the Colts. And if you watch the Broncos play I would throw to Marshall on every single play of the game that he is on the field.  You can’t cover the guy when he wants to get open. Marshall broke a league record with 21 receptions for 200 yards and 2 TD’s. Marshall = 4 points

Defense

Brian Cushing: The rookie is a stud. He is all over the field every game he plays. He had 10 tackles and a sack against the Seahawks. Cushing = 1 point

Jonathan Vilma: Vilma helped the Saints move to 13-0 by making some huge plays on defense. He put the nail in the coffin by making a huge hit on Jason Snelling to stop him short of the marker on 4th down with under 2 minutes to go. Vilma finished the game with 7 tackles, 1 INT and that huge 4th down stop.  Vilma = 2 points

Sheldon Brown: While you can’t say Brown’s effort was great due to the fact the Eagles up 38 points, he made plays when he needed to.  He started off in the 1st quarter being in the right place at the right time and picking up a fumble and taking it 60 yards for the TD. He finished the game with 7 tackles (6 solo). Brown = 3 points

Keith Bulluck: I know it was against the Rams and their offense stinks but Bulluck had an awesome day. About 6 weeks ago Bulluck was in disgust as the Titans got hammered by the Patriots and now he is leading the defense that has a 2nd life.  Bulluck finished with 2 INT’s and 10 tackles (7 solo). Bulluck = 4 points
