Walking the Waiver Wire: 3 Guys to Consider
Here are this week’s top free agent pickups, depending on your league size:
Jason Snelling (Atlanta Falcons – RB) – With starter Michael Turner going down with the dreaded high ankle sprain, Snelling will have the opportunity to step up for the Falcons. Last week, he performed more than adequately by putting up 93 yards and a touch vs. Carolina. Even though this week’s matchup vs. the Giants isn’t a favorable one, expect 20 or so carries and a possible touchdown. Typically, the type of injury Turner sustained lasts a couple of weeks, so Snelling could have great short term value.
Snelling: waiver pick 5 and up
Justin Forsett (Seattle Seahawks – RB) – Like Turner, Seahawks starter Julius Jones went down in-game with a possible multi-week injury. And like Turner’s backup, Justin Forsett took advantage of his opportunity. He exploded for a career best 149 yards against a usually stifling Cardinals run defense. While Seattle will try to break through the Williams wall in Week 11, they do play the Rams in Week 12 which would be a fantastic matchup for Forsett if Jones continues to sit.
Forsett: waiver pick 5 and up
Bernard Scott (Cincinnati Bengals – RB) – While Scott didn’t exactly impress like Snelling and Forsett did in the battle of back-up RB’s, he should be considered this week because of his opponent, the Oakland Raiders. He’ll be a one week plug and play if Benson can’t come back from the hip injury.
Scott: waiver pick 8 and up or if you lower if you need a ‘plug and play’.
