Walking the Waiver Wire: 3 Guys to Consider

October 6, 2009 Uncategorized No Comments

Here are this week’s top free agents that could be available in your league, depending on roster sizes:

Jerome Harrison (Cleveland Browns – RB) – With Jamal Lewis sitting Week 4 out with a pulled hammy, Jerome Harrison got the start for the offensively challenged Brownies.  With no competition for carries since pre-season darling James Davis got put on IR, Harrison got 34 touches and produced 156 yards.  In the new world of RBBC’s, it’s refreshing to see someone get 25 plus carries a game, regardless of his skill set.  If Lewis can’t get healthy or remains a shell of his former self, look for Harrison to have a bigger role in the Browns offense. Really, what do they have to lose at this point?

Kenny Britt (Tennessee Titans – WR) – In Week 4, the rook out of Rutgers produced his 1st 100 yard game as a professional. He was targeted 11 times as the Titans had to throw often since they found themselves down 27-3 at halftime to the Jags. While the Titans are a running team, if they keep falling behind due to a secondary with more holes that baby swiss, Britt will have more opportunities to shine in the future due to a lack of a true #1 WR.

Lance Moore (New Orleans Saints – WR) – While Moore only had 1 catch on Sunday, just him playing is a step in the right direction. He is coming off a bad hamstring injury which has severely limited his abilities so far in 2009.  In 2008, he had 79 receptions for 928 yards and 10 TD’s so don’t discredit his importance in this high octane offense. Once him and Drew get back on track, look for him to work underneath, opening up the seams for the Saints big play threats.
