Survivor Pool Solutions for Week 6: New York Jets
With the parity in today’s NFL, selecting THE team for your Survivor Pool each week takes more thought and strategy than ever before. We here at Bump and Run don’t want you to screw it up. Survivor Pool Solutions will help to alleviate the stresses of making that gut-wrenching decision (at least we hope so). This week’s play: The New York Jets.
If you saw Rex Ryan’s press conference shortly after the Jets’ 31-27 loss to the Dolphins on Monday night, you know that this dude hates to lose. He was ashamed of the way his defense defended the Wildcat and how they made Chad Henne “look like Dan Marino.” In fact, Ryan was so steamed that he decided to stay at the Jets facility early Tuesday morning after returning from Miami to prepare for this Sunday’s game against the 1-4 Buffalo Bills:
“This is a must win for us, and I think we have to respond,” Ryan said. “I think playing at home in front of our fans is going to be huge for us, but from an organizational standpoint, our entire organization, this week has got to be huge.” (NY Post)
The message is clear and warning shots have been fired: win this Sunday at home, or else.
From a Survivor Pool perspective, we talk every week about finding the one game that’s an absolute lock. Looking at the Week 6 schedule, you can probably find at least 3 or 4 games that members of your pool will flock towards. The Jets winning on Sunday isn’t the question, it’s by how much. The Bills are coming off a home loss to the Browns in which they could only muster 3 points of offense. Talk about pathetic – 3 points against the Cleveland Browns at home?? Buffalo’s defense is decimated by injuries and their offense is without an identity. Expect Ryan to make life miserable for Trent Edwards and for the rout to start early. Using the Jets will allow you to keep other elite teams with tasty match-ups this week (Steelers, Patriots, Eagles) in your back pocket.
Still not convinced? Here are a few other games to consider:
Philadelphia over OAKLAND
PITTSBURGH over Cleveland
**Home team in CAPS
Survive and advance. We’ll see you next week.
